Parq Casino · Vancouver, seen from Burnaby

Parq Casino, Downtown from Burnaby

This page reads Parq Casino from Burnaby. It sets out the address, the games on the floor and the price of parking downtown. It also marks how Parq differs from Grand Villa, Burnaby's own casino, before anyone points the car west.

Parq Vancouver towers on their glass podium

Downtown, 10.1 km from Burnaby

Parq Casino stands at 39 Smithe Street, Vancouver, BC V6B 0R3, in downtown Vancouver. From central Burnaby that is 10.1 km in a straight line. Road distance is another matter, and this guide does not list it. The general phone line is +1 604 683 7277.

Hours are no reason to choose one over the other. Grand Villa and Parq both operate around the clock, with no closing day in the week.

The setting is the real contrast. Parq sits inside Parq Vancouver, a resort whose two hotels are JW Marriott and The Douglas. The casino is one piece of a larger complex, not a stand-alone room.

What Parq deals, game by game

  • Slots and electronic touch machines: Parq lists both. Slots are played alone at a machine, and electronic touch machines are worked through a touchscreen.
  • Baccarat: a card game in which the dealer handles the cards and players wager on Player, Banker or a tie.
  • Blackjack: each player plays against the dealer's hand, trying to get closer to 21 without going over.
  • Roulette: a ball is spun on a numbered wheel, and bets go on where it comes to rest.
  • The poker room sits on Level 3 and keeps 24/7 hours. Here players compete against each other at the table, not against the house.
  • Stadium Gaming: Parq lists it under that name. Parq publishes no counts of slots, tables or poker tables, so this guide gives none.

Parking is the real difference

Parking is where the two rooms part ways. At Grand Villa, parking is free, from a parkade reaching the front door to several outdoor lots. Parq has 24-hour on-property self-parking, pay-by-plate, and it is paid. Members of Encore Rewards with 15 points or more park free; Guest Services, on Level 2, handles sign-up. On event days at BC Place and Rogers Arena, the rate runs $25 to $35.

Non-event days cost $5 per hour from 5AM to 5PM, with a $20 daily maximum. From 5PM to midnight it is a $20 flat rate Sunday to Thursday, and $25 Friday and Saturday. Midnight to 5AM is $15, and a full 24 hours is $55. The minimum age is 19+, ID is checked at the door for every guest regardless of age, and Parq says no specific dress code is in force. The food and drink list takes in The Victor, Honey Salt, KOI Noodle Bar and D/6 Lounge.
