Hastings Casino · Vancouver, seen from Burnaby
Hastings Casino, the Nearby Slots Room
Hastings Casino sits in East Vancouver and plays very differently from Grand Villa. What follows sets out its location, its opening hours, what the floor holds and what it lacks. Readers who came for cards will find the short answer early, and it is not a long one.
Across the Line, With a Closing Time
Inside Hastings Park in East Vancouver, Hastings Casino occupies 188 N Renfrew St, Vancouver. It shares the grounds of Hastings Racecourse, which dates from 1889. From central Burnaby it is 5.9 km in a straight line. Road distance is another matter, and this guide does not quote one.
The clock is the first difference. Grand Villa never closes. Hastings keeps set hours: Sunday to Thursday from 11AM to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 11AM to 2AM.
A sale of the casino portion to Tsleil-Waututh Nation was agreed on November 7, 2025.
What Is Dealt Here, and What Is Not
- The floor is slots and nothing else, with no live tables and no room set aside for poker.
- Blackjack, baccarat, roulette or a table poker variant means heading back to Grand Villa, which runs 67 live tables.
- No slot count appears on this page. Published figures do not agree, and the editors would rather print none than guess.
- Live thoroughbred racing is finished, after Great Canadian announced on December 5, 2025 that no further racing seasons would be held here.
- A simulcast racebook carries on, showing broadcast races, and a monthly simulcast schedule is published.
Lounge, Dining and the Door
Eclipse Lounge, a few steps off the gaming floor, is indoors and has a stage and a full-service bar. Off the Racebook, Jerome's serves casual meals. The Clubhouse opens only during live racing. With racing over, nobody should plan an evening around it.
The phone number is 604-254-1631. Parking is free in BCLC's Casinos BC listing. No transit directions are published, and this guide names no stations or routes. Entry is 19+, with government-issued photo ID required. The loyalty program is Encore Rewards.
